Distributed Network Protocol 3 (DNP3) is a communication protocol used in industrial control systems (ICS) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems. It's allows for reliable and efficient communication between control devices, such as remote terminal units (RTUs) and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and master stations or control centers.
